| There are keyboards that give you everything under the sun, but you always go back to the classics ...
Despite not being made any more, the sounds of vintage keyboard instruments are still as in-demand as ever. While these sounds come on a vast array of modern keyboards, many of them leave players wanting; they may imitate the real thing, but the life has been squeezed out of them.
To bring that life back, we present the Nord Electro2. Introduced in 2001, the Nord Electro has grown into the must-have instrument for gigging musicians everywhere, weekend warriors and stadium headliners alike. Its faithful reproduction of vintage electromechanical keyboards, its lightweight yet roadworthy design, the ease of use, its simple and elegant purpose - all these create a synergy that transforms a piece of digital technology into a truly musical instrument. The technology and design manifest in the Electro2 serves a singular purpose: the best digital emulation of classic electrictronic pianos available in a performance instrument.
It starts with the Organ section, which creates its sound from a series of digital models that emulate the internal physical interactions of tonewheel organs such as the Hammond™ A100, precursor to the B3. The result of this modeling process is an organ sound more faithful to the original than any other clonewheel availble. The Electro2 features a rotary speaker model as well, which recreates the acceleration and deceleration of two rotating horns found in rotary speakers like the Leslie™.
The Electro2 takes the opposite approach to its vintage pianos. Instead of compressing and truncating the samples, then rebuilding them in a synth engine, the Electro features full samples. Its piano sounds - samples of Rhodes™, Wurlitzer™, Clavinet, electric grand piano, and even an acoustic grand - are complemented with a rich effects section. With such effects and full samples on the Electro2, you can not only recreate sounds from classic rock, fusion, and pop records, but you have the tools to create sounds just as original and personal as your own voice.
